About Ealing Acupuncture and Shiatsu Clinic

Ealing Acupuncture and Shiatsu Clinic offers Chinese herbal medicine, Shiatsu massage and acupuncture in Ealing, West London.

In my practice, I take appointments for only one person at a time. In the case of acupuncture, I do not leave my patients alone with needles left in them, as is done in most practices. This is because I would like to give maximum care and attention to my patients.

We normally associate acupuncture with needles, but acupuncture in Chinese literally means "needles and moxa". Moxa is dried medicinal herb, Artemisia or magwort, which are burnt and used as a source of heat. Shiatsu is a Japanese massage technique based on Chinese medicine theory.

Su Wen, an ancient Chinese medical text, describes different types of treatment; Surgery in the East, needles in South, herbal medicine in West, moxa treatment in North and massage in the Central part of China. It suggests there is an integration of these branches of medicine, each with their own advantages. In this clinic, this integrated approach of Chinese medicine is fundamental.

Therefore, a combination of the above methods could be tailored depending on your condition and constitution. But which type of therapy you would like to have is equally important. We can discuss together what would be the best option for you. After all, you can have Shiatsu only if you wish.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the branches of ancient Chinese medicine. Using needles and "moxa" (dried herbs) on specific points along the "meridians" or channels through which so-called "qi" or vital energy is believed to flow, it redresses the imbalance of the body. For this reason, normally the whole body is considered, rather than the affected area only. The aim of acupuncture is to harmonize the energy flow of the whole. The ideas of acupuncture are based on a system different from western medicine, e.g. pulse diagnosis, yin/yang, "Kidney" deficiency, etc.

From the practitioner

Thank you for visiting my web site. I practise traditional Chinese herbal medicine, shiatsu and acupuncture in Ealing. The session may also include moxibustion, qi gong and cupping depending on your symptoms. I was trained and qualified both in the UK and Japan.

From my childhood to even my twenties I used to suffer from severe migraine. That is one of the reasons I became interested in oriental medicine. Through my practice and my own experience as a patient, I am convinced that oriental medicine is a highly effective and excellent way of natural healing.

However it is often difficult to convey the important aspects by expressing it in simple words. Music or painting can be best understood through the work itself. So is acupuncture and other forms of oriental medicine, I believe. I hope this will be the case for you and would be happy to share my passion with you.
